LIFE integrated project "Improving Energy Efficiency in Lithuania" (LIFE IP EnerLIT)
Duration: 9 years (01.10.2021 - 31.12.2030)
EPMA together with 14 different national, regional and non-governmental organizations from Lithuania and Poland, is implementing the LIFE integrated project "Energy Efficiency Improvement in Lithuania", which aims to support the implementation of the National Action Plan for Energy and Climate in the field of energy efficiency, by taking the following actions:
- Catalyzing processes
- Implementing energy efficiency measures
- Strategic capacity building
- Integrating greenhouse gas reduction targets
The aim of the project is to build an energy efficient country by working in the following areas:
- Building national and regional capacity
- Sustainable and energy efficient buildings
- Efficient and climate-friendly mobility
- Green and energy-efficient industry
- Green public procurement
By 2030, we will achieve:
- 27 TWh of energy saved
- 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (compared to 2005)
- 240,000 companies/individuals have changed their behavior by making climate-friendly choices
EPMA is the coordinating partner of the project and is responsible for the overall implementation and supervision of the project activities, as well as for coordinating the design and implementation of the competence development program, organizing training activities for the project partners and social partners, liaising with projects from other countries and programs, organizing events for sharing good practice and involving stakeholders. EPMA also coordinates the implementation of the multi-apartment housing renewal program within its competence, optimizes the process, participates in public information and publicity campaigns, and provides support to third parties implementing innovative solutions to create more environmentally friendly habits among the population.
Project financing: The total value of the project – EUR 11 046 098. Majority of the funding is from the EU LIFE Program (EUR 6 627 658), the remaining amount is allocated from the budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
